MY BOOKS
I have written four books on gardening; two for adults and two for children and the one thing all my writing communicates, I hope, is a deep and abiding interest and enthusiasm for the world of plants.
When my son was small and became fascinated in the micro world of our garden, he pulled me along with him, and we began to investigate the lives of the invertebrates and small mammals that we came across on our daily excursions. Many of the creatures we discovered on our doorstep are included among the pages of Kids in the Wild Garden, a book for children all about gardening with wildlife in mind.
Kids in the Wild Garden is a follow up to Kids in the Garden, Growing Plants for Food and Fun, a book full of projects for growing and cooking fruit and veggies. Both these books are illustrated with photographs and cartoons to bring these fascinating subjects to life.
Growing Stuff, An Alternative Guide to Gardening is a lighthearted approach to city gardening, packed with ideas and tips for gardeners on a budget and those who are just starting out. The forward by guerilla gardener Richard Reynolds sets the tone and is followed by 50 projects for the beginner gardener.
A Pocket Guide To Plants And Gardening is a great little book packed with information that will be of interest to anyone with a love of plants and gardening, full of curiosities, tales and easily digestible details of plant science and the history of gardening; a good read for beginners and experts alike.
